The Next Tech Group story began long before cloud phones and interactive screens.
In 1977, a 17-year-old John was handed a photocopier manual during an unusual job interview and told to return the following week to explain how it worked. He read it cover to cover, earned the role and began learning how to repair office equipment from the inside out.
His mentor, Tony Witlox, believed there were no shortcuts. To properly sell, service or support a machine, you first needed to understand exactly how it worked. It was a lesson in patience, persistence and thoroughness that John carried throughout his career – and one that continues to influence how Next Tech Group works today.
After gaining experience in the industry, John established Solar City Office Equipment. As the business grew and expanded into communications technology, it evolved into the Next Tech Group we know today.
After more than a decade in the industry, John established Solar City Office Equipment in Shepparton.
As workplace technology changed, the business expanded beyond printing and office equipment into communications and connected technology solutions.
